Tips on Pricing Your Items
List your preloved items for the right price!
Use these tips to get your preloved items sold quickly!
1. Consider the current value, not what you paid
Like all things in life once purchased and taken out of the shop, it loses value immediately. This covers all items whether being an electronic, mechanical or furniture item, not to mention clothing being either designer or every day.
Relate the pricing of items back to today’s pricing, keeping in mind that warranties and guarantees could have expired if the item has mechanical or electronic working parts.
All in all, items should be marked relative to its value of now and not at time of purchase.
2. Charge a MAXIMUM of half the value or purchased price for items in perfect condition
It may seem like a big loss for now, but the longer you hold onto it at a higher price, the more it depreciates with time
3. Sell items that are in fair to good condition in bundles or packages
E.g. clothing of the same age grouping and type, such as onesies, or clothing from a specific age group
4. New items with or without tags
Items that have never been used and possible still in the box or has tags often are marked and same selling price as in the shop. Again, take into consideration warranties and guarantees on bigger items and styles od clothing and designs on items such as clothing furniture colours etc.
Price according to market value and not shop purchase value. When priced similar to shop value, people would 9 times out of 10 purchase in store, for the guarantee’s given in case of any functional or breakage problems
5. Designer items can be harder to sell
When priced to high because of the original prices, people are inclined to be looking for a bargain.
